It's Eureka!'s job for scientists to have more such moments of elation.

“A discovery is like falling in love and reaching the top of the mountain after a hard climb all in one, an ecstasy … induced by … the revelation of a face of nature that no one has seen before."

(Max Perutz, Nobel laureate)

Mission Statement

Mission Statement

Eureka! is a broker of knowledge and tools that support scientists in making discoveries. Its chief goal is to put researchers in command of their creativity and thus to enable them to more reliably find out, what no-one else has before.

Big Idea.png

It is said that the great Greek scientist Archimedes had one of his groundbreaking insights – one that also made him triumphantly shouting ‘Eureka’ half-naked in the streets – while doing something unrelated to the problem he was trying to solve. Ever since, many believe that revolutionary ideas come as a strike of luck or are reserved to special individuals.

However, based on research on scientific creativity, we now know that original hypotheses result from distinct forms of thinking or from combining different fields of knowledge. Moreover, there is no doubt that techniques enhancing generative thinking can be learned by all scientists.

Eureka! Expertise for Discoveries provides scientists with knowledge, tools and processes reliably facilitating their creative thinking, as individuals or groups. By partnering with Eureka! you can thus lay the foundation for research journeys that will take you beyond the frontiers of knowledge (and will be marked by your own Eureka moments, again and again.)

Dr. Stefan Goetze

Your guide towards discovery

Eureka!  is the brainchild of Dr. Stefan Goetze (DPhil Oxon), a curious mind with a calling to help scientists realize their full creative potential.

Motivation

As a social scientist, I studied how people think and act in unfamiliar situations. I soon became convinced that the extensive knowledge on human reasoning and behavior could help scientists to cope more effectively with challenges requiring them to think creatively and to work together with colleagues from other disciplines.

I thus founded Eureka! not only to continue my personal learning journey but also to give back to a way of life that has inspired me with passion and purpose ever since I first entered a lecture hall.
